Wuling Motors (Wuling) and Telkomsel recently announced a strategic partnership to strengthen the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country. This collaboration is also marked by the launch of Wuling’s latest electric vehicle, the BinguoEV (pronounced: Bing-go EV).

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Kota Kasablanka underscores Wuling’s commitment to providing a connected and innovative driving experience to its electric vehicle customers. This collaboration is expected to promote smart and integrated mobility solutions in the era of environmentally friendly vehicles.

“We are proud to announce the strategic partnership between Wuling and Telkomsel, which is an important step in strengthening the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. Through this partnership, we contribute to EVolution Indonesia: Bridging Connections for a Sustainable Future. Our focus is not only on developing Internet of Vehicle services for Wuling EV users but also on creating an ecosystem that supports sustainable mobility as a whole,” said Dian Asmahani, Marketing & Sales Director of Wuling Motors.

In this collaboration, the main focus is on developing Internet of Vehicle (Connected Car) services to enhance connectivity and the driving experience. One important aspect is the utilization of Telkomsel’s network infrastructure by embedding Telkomsel’s B2B SIM card profile in Wuling electric vehicles.

With this step, Wuling electric car owners can enjoy advanced telematics services, including vehicle condition monitoring, smart navigation, and in-car entertainment. This partnership aims to provide a smarter and more integrated driving experience for consumers by leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.

Additionally, Wuling is also partnering with Telkomsel in the field of Fleet Management System to support Wuling electric vehicle fleet owners. Telkomsel will provide specialized IoT solutions designed for fleet management systems, including real-time monitoring and vehicle performance reporting, as well as proper integration for electric vehicle charging stations. This aims to deliver an efficient and connected fleet management system.

Wuling and Telkomsel also plan to launch joint marketing campaigns with product offerings that better match customer preferences and needs. By leveraging telco data insight platforms, the electric vehicle user market will open up with opportunities for more than 158.3 million Telkomsel customers. With the implementation of better data-driven marketing strategies, it is hoped that both companies can drive business growth and Indonesia’s increasingly innovative and connected digital ecosystem.

“In line with Telkomsel’s spirit inspired by Indonesia’s spirit to always create breakthroughs, together with Wuling we strive to present leading connectivity solutions to strengthen the domestic electric vehicle ecosystem. Emphasizing the spirit of #PastiAdaSolusi, Telkomsel is committed to supporting a more sophisticated and efficient electric driving experience with the latest IoT-based transportation connectivity solutions, Connected Car," explained Telkomsel Network Director Indra Mardiatna.

The partnership between Wuling and Telkomsel is considered an important step to encourage the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, involving the development of Internet of Vehicle services, Fleet Management System, and joint marketing campaigns. This collaboration is expected to provide a better driving experience for consumers and electric vehicle fleet owners, while increasing public awareness about electric vehicles.
