The NextDev Startups to Perform, Inspire in 5 Cities
The NextDev Academy Showcase is held. This is the event to introduce startups that have been mentored and developed in The NextDev Academy to the wider public. These startup educational socialization activities for young people took place each for two days in five cities: Medan, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar.
The NextDev Academy Showcase is an effort to introduce digipreneurship or entrepreneurship in the digital field to young Indonesians. This activity is expected to inspire young Indonesian prospective developers in various areas, so that in the future it will open collaborative opportunities to find the right solutions in urban development.
The NextDev Academy Showcase is held on September 2-3, 2017 at Sun Plaza Medan, September 9-10, 2017 at 23 Paskal Bandung, 16-17 September 2017 at Plaza Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, September 23-24, 2017 at Ciputra World Surabaya, and September 30- October 1, 2017 at Trans Mall Makassar.
This activity features 10 finalists of The NextDev competition in 2015 and 2016 selected as the top 10 participants of The NextDev Academy based on several assessment parameters, namely quantitative performance, product maturity, business model validity, and reliability of public communications and marketing. The ten startups are Eragano, Kostoom, Hand-held, Vestifarm, My Footsteps, The Denim Club, Habibi Garden, Parking Area, Credible, and Angkuts.
On the first day of The Showcase, the top 10 finalists of The NextDev Academy 2017 perform a demo and team pitching to inspire visitors with their apps. The event is also filled with a talkshow session that presents practitioners in the startup industry as speakers: Yoris Sebastian (Founder & Creative Thinker of OMG Consulting), Iman Usman (Co-Founder & CEO of RuangGuru), Dennis Adhiswara (CEO of Layaria), Gibran Huzaifah (Founder & CEO of eFishery), Peter Shearer (Managing Director of AR & Co), and Yansen Kamto (Founder of Kibar).
Meanwhile, on the second day, rocket pitching is held to capture the finalists of The NextDev 2017 Competition. The registration of rocket pitching is opened before the roadshow for 20 registrants with each team consisting of a maximum of three people. Each participating team was given three minutes to present an application idea that presents problems, solutions, and business models for urban issues. The topics that can be selected are the same as the categories in The NextDev 2017 Competition: e-Health, e-Education, e-Agriculture, and e-Transportation. The best participants in rocket pitching is determined by the judges who are experienced in the field of digital startup.
The two best participants in rocket pitching in each city receive a special prize. The first best participant is entitled to golden ticket to the top 20 The NextDev 2017 Competition as well as TCASH balance of IDR 3 million. Meanwhile, the second best participant won tickets to the top 100 of the same competition and TCASH balance of IDR 1 million.
The NextDev Academy is a place to sharpen the quality of applications created by startups who become finalists of The NextDev 2015 and 2016. By participating in the academy which took place from July to October 2017, the finalists of The NextDev will get the right insight and benefit to develop its application more effectively, while also participating in maintaining the sustainability of the application developer community and the application-based digital ecosystem.
The NextDev Academy is held to improve the scalability of social technopreneurs through self-development and capacity building in research and customer development, design sprint, branding, product development, as well as business model and bootstrapping. Through this event, young Indonesians are invited to move together through ideas and innovations to provide benefits for people's lives.
