5G Smart Warehouse
[Cikarang Barat, Indonesia, March 7, 2024] Indonesia's leading digital telecommunications provider, Telkomsel, and global ICT solutions provider Huawei have inaugurated the first 5G Smart Warehouse and 5G Innovation Center in Indonesia, located in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java. This innovative facility demonstrates the potential of 5G technology to transform warehouse management, enhance operational efficiency, and create new opportunities for the logistics industry in supporting the digital economy's momentum towards Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045.
Mr. Long, CEO of Huawei Indonesia, led the inauguration, which was attended by Dr. Ismail MT., Director General of Resources and Postal and Informatics Devices; Indra Mardiatna, Director of Networks at Telkomsel; Derrick Heng, Director of Marketing at Telkomsel; Mahendra Rianto, Chairman of the Indonesian Logistics Association; and representatives from Bandung Institute of Technology, Telkom University, and other Huawei partners.
Director General of Resources and Postal and Informatics Devices Ismail emphasized, “The presence of the Huawei 5G Smart Warehouse can serve as a wake-up call and a good example for the entire ecosystem to integrate this 5G technology into digitalization, which will genuinely provide breakthrough solutions that benefit not only the logistics industry but also various other sectors. This is only possible through the collaboration of all stakeholders to drive national digital transformation.”
Mr. Long reiterated Huawei's commitment to supporting the government and industry players in unlocking Indonesia's digital opportunities. “At the 5G Summit in Solo last year, together with industry partners, we committed to strengthening the 5G ecosystem. The 5G Smart Warehouse is tangible proof of how 5G technology can add value to traditional industries in Indonesia,” he stated.

According to data from the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Indonesia's logistics costs have decreased from 23.5% to 14.29% of gross domestic product in 2023.
